The first taste I had of running any technology for an event came at my primary school.  At the age of 8 I set up the lights and ran them for school plays using an old resistor dimmer pack.

By the age of 12 I was running the sound system at the church I belonged to and as soon as I started work I bought myself a couple of speakers and a mixer / amplifier and became the sound guy for our youth band (as well as being the lead singer!)

When the church needed a new sound system, I was asked to research what would best meet our needs, to install the system, and to train up some volunteers to use the new equipment effectively.  I've since done similar for a number of other churches, as well as troubleshooting existing systems which were not working reliably.  My background and training in Electrical Engineering often comes in useful with this, as well as my varied experience running sound in a broad cross section of settings.

Having run the sound systems for a couple of bands and then for a panto I decided I needed o upgrade my mixer and in 2000 I went digital with the Yamaha 01V.

Although sound is my main passion, I've expanded my skills and abilities to include lighting (using computers to control multiple LED fixtures.)  I've also branched out into video projection, live streaming over the internet, and even a smoke machine and a confetti cannon!

I have always enjoyed sharing my passion and knowledge for technology.  I get great satisfaction from working alongside clients to make their events the best they possibly can be.
